Career Centers: One-Stop Shopping

Career centers are located just about anywhere people are trying to make a living, from college campuses to rural towns. These centers are a one-stop shop for career management, and they're usually free or reasonably priced. The fees will vary widely according to the location of the career center and your specific needs.

Services offered through career centers include:

  • Skill testing
  • Career education workshops
  • Career counseling
  • Time management classes
  • Job placement
  • Career coaching
  • Networking

Many career centers offer job boards, career fairs, and speakers from major employers in the area who give presentations on the company's hiring needs. A good starting place is your high school or college career services office. In addition, check online listings and the yellow pages.
